Commerical Illustration

Commercial illustration is visual art created specifically to support the objectives of informing, persuading, educating or promoting a product, brand, service or idea. While fine art is more about personal expression, commercial illustration is goal-driven—usually tied to helping a client or company reach a targeted audience. Though I primarily drew for fun while growing up, most of the illustrating I do now-a-days is all about communicating a message in a business context.

I've always been able to freehand draw since I was a little kid, with an emphasis on comics/cartooning. But once I landed at the University of Kansas in the mid-1990s (where I eventually graduated with a Bachelors degree in Visual Communication), developments in computer-based illustration programs opened doors and helped me develop skills that I never dreamed of, and that would not have been possible before that technology emerged. Now, there is not a lot that I cannot create visually on the computer!

Due to the wide array of Illustrations I have done over the last 25 years, I have divided this section of my portfolio into the following sub-sections to help you find what you may most interest you.
