I have done many HTML email designs in the last decade. I did several for many clients that were pretty serious subject matter, with more of a corporate look. But the majority were for one company, and I've done about 8 per year since 2014, usually centered around holidays, and other annual events. This was one area of work I did for this client where they were happy to spend a little bit of extra money for me to work up unique ideas that would elicit a lot of positive feedback for my client. I often did custom illustrations that helped re-enforce their brand while making them stand out from the crowd with unique concepts.
